BOTANY DEPARTMENT

Department of Botany regularly conducts Field trips/Study-Collection visits to study,explore and understand habitats,ecosystems and understand variations and modifications in plant form and function.

On 22 - 23 - September 2010 a study trip in Ecology to Rangan Tittu, Bandipur, Himavad Gopalswamy Betta was conducted.for the III Semester Students.
The I semester students undertake the study of Algae,
II semester -Plant pathology,
III Semester- Ecology (Environmetal science),
IV semester-Paleobotany,V semester -Taxonomy (Systematic Botany).
Visits to institutes such as CFTRI,IISc, National Institute of Nutrition,Forest research Labs, University Geology Museum (Fossils) are organized.
Tour reports,Herbaria,Specimen collection and submission forms a component of the curriculum.
