  The  National Degree College,Basavanagudi,Bangalore in association with the Karnataka Association for the Advancement of Science(KAAS) organized a Special Lecture on Human Invitro Fertilization-Ultimate Panacea for Infertility( the Nobel Award for Medicine 2010)on Friday,the 29^th October at 2:30PM at the Dr.H.N.Multimedia Hall of the college.The speaker was Dr.A.J.Rao, Professor of Biochemistry,Rajaramanna Fellow,Indian Institute of Science,Bangalore.

The Programme was presided over by Prof.R.M.Ranganath, Professor of Botany and the Registrar of Bangalore University.

Sri.D.N.Anand , the Vice President of NES of Karnataka,Bangalore was the Chief Guest.

Dr.M.Leelavathi,Principal of the College welcomed the gathering.

Miss.S.Lakshmi Krupa ,III Sem.B.Sc. rendered the invocation.

Pro.P.R.Muthalik,Secretary ,College Council played an important role in the conduct of the programme.

Dr.H.Gokul Prof and H.O.D of The Department of Botany, introduced the speaker.

The Lecture was well attended by a large number of interested students.

Prof.R.M.Mallya,former Chairman of the Dept.of Metallurgy,I.I.Sc., Bangalore;

Prof.K.C.Patil of the Dept. of inorganic and Physical Chemistry,I.I.Sc.;

 Prof.N.G.Puttaswamy,Former Professor of Physics,Bangalore University  and also presently the President of KAAS;  Prof.R.Venugopal,Former Professor of Chemistry,V.V. puram College of Science

and many other distinguished scientists and Professors of the different Universities  were present in the audience.

This is a testimony to say that the programme was well received by both the teachers and students present on the occasion.
