Our college conducted a National Conference on Laser and its Applications. This is to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the discovery of Optical Laser. Laser is one of the best examples of innovation in basic scientific research, translating into technology resulting in greater economic benefits.
The programme had four lectures on History, Spectroscophy, photonics and the future of laser. The lectures were delivered by Dr. H.L.Bhat, Dr.Vasant Natarajan, Dr.S.V.Subramanyam of I.I.Sc. Dr.Rejii Philip of R.R.I.
The lectures were followed by demonstration of laser-based experiments by Shri..Shirish, R.Pathore of Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. The impartent aspect of the Conference was the Poster Compitetion on Laser and its applications. There were about 45 entries from different parts of the country.
At the end of the day a quiz programme was arranged for student participants based on the day's lectures.
The programme concluded with a lecture on Cosmic Laziness by Dr.S.V.Subramanyam.
The programme was wll attended by delegates drawn from various parts of the Country, State and City.
